i just replaced my check engine light on my car because the bulb was burnt out. Now what I took it to get it smoged again they said I wouldnt pass because when you start the car the light dosnt come on to show that is works. What elts could be the ploblem?

With key on engine off
you should have check engine light on
if not you have a problem
make sure that the bulb was replaced was in th correct place

if have check engine light on with key on and engine off
you should pass the light test
