Transmission problem
1995 Ford Escort Automatic 185500 miles

So after driving for about 40 minutes, the gears start slipping and the transmission does not kick in to the second gear. Im basically stuck going 25 km/h on the road with the engine reving up. I let the car rest for about an hour and everything appears normal. This has happened to me three times. I notice it mostly happens after having gone uphill. Any suggestions please

When was the last time you serviced the transmission fluid? This is usually caused by burnt, dirty or old transmission fluid and dirty filter.
