Shakes or Wobbles problem
1994 Ford Escort 4 cyl Manual 152250 miles

Recently had timing and timing tension done, along with new battery, alternator, alternator belt. After that my cars check emgine light would come on once in a while and it would stall. Changed spark plugs, spark plug wires, coils, pcv valve and hose, and it was running ok for the most part, the check engine light would once in a while come on. Than it started to check engine light would come on regularly, the engine would shake, and the car seemed to be "pulling/tugging". So today I had the ECM done with the codes coming up clear. After I left the place, the exhaust started to "putt", the car started jerking sometimes, and the check engine light started blinking rapidly and go off and continued to do that. It seems to be misfiring, I am not sure though. So now I have NO CLUE what could be wrong. I have put $700 into the car and cant afford to buy another one or get the run around from people who look at it. Please help, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Engine running rough or misfiring can be cause by the following:

1. Defective spark plug.
2. Inadequate spark/coil, defective spark plug wire.
3. Lack of compression
4. False air leakage.
5. Faulty fuel injectors.
6. Insufficient fuel pressure.
7. Contaminated fuel.
8. EGR valve that is leaking.
9. Oxygen sensors.
