Brakes problem
1990 Ford Escort Front Wheel Drive Automatic 58,000 miles

I just bought this cheap lil car with no noticeable leaks or visable issues. Drove it home only noticed the brakes are super touchy. Parked it got dressed for work got in drove it to the gas station it was struggleing the whole way got there and the front brakes were on fire! Is this the master cylinder?

Hi not nessacarilly this could be calipers rubber hoses or proportioning valve. If the car sit for awhile the calipers could hang up the sliders on the calipers can seize.

All this could cause brakes not to release but if the mc was causing this your brake lights would be on all the time so the prob seems to be further forward then the master.

Usually this caliper on this car cheap easy fix I would put new rubber hoses and new calipers.

Check the balljoints these failing will cause all kinds of weird problems
