199 Escort Spark Plug Repalcement

How do you acess the spark plugs in a 1999 Ford Escort 2.0L DOHC Zetec engine to replace them?

You will need a long extension and a socket specially designed to hold on to spark plugs since it is overhead cam and the plugs are recessed in the head. Just remove the plug wires and replace the plug ONE AT A TIME as to not get your wires mixed up. Be sure not to tighten them too much either or you could break the plug. It's a relativley simple job.

Just be patient with it. Don't pull on the wire, but rather wiglle the boot until the wire comes loose. If they haven't been replace the life of the car, they may need to be.
