When I turn the key there is a sound of clicking and the car won't turn over to start. The clicking started suddenly after a rain storm in northern California. I was wondering if it was the starter, the alternator or what. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Kindest regards,

gj

Could be the battery is weak or a bad connection. Try this have helper hold key in start position and bang on the starter-did it crank the engine? If so replace the starter-if not check for power at the starter solenoid small terminal-power there-replace the starter. No power could be the starter relay/transmission range switch/NSS, and ignition switch.
