2001 Ford E-Series Van wont start only makes clicking noise

Yesterday my dad bought a 2001 econoline conversion van after driving it only 60 miles the check engine light came on today I tried to start it to take it to auto zone to have the codes checked and it would not start I tried to jump it and it still wouild only make a clicking noise the battery gauge seems to be closer to the top than in the middle what could it be

Get the battery load tested-to get it out of the way-then find the starter relay and get a remote starter hook it up on the I terminal and battery positive side coming from the battery-not to the starter, the starter should crank the engine without touching the key. Then comeback for further help if needed
