1988 Ford E-Series Van fuel gauge

My fuel gauge is inoperative, does it have a fuse? How can I test to see if it is the sending unit or the gauge?

You'll have to ground out the fuel gage wire at the tank if you can reach it and then see if your gage inside goes up. If it does then it 's the sending unit in the tank.
