I have a 2002 Ford Crown Vic. I made the mistake of washing the engine with water. Shortly thereafter, the engine light began flashing and the engine was misfiring. I took it to have the code read. I was advised there was water in the #2 + 3 cylinders. When I inquired about the solution, I was told to drive it and it would eventually work itself out. I have driven it about 30 miles and it doesnt appear to be getting any better. What do I need to do?

Thanks

If you have a 4.6 (8cyl) and each cyl has a coil, you may need to remove the boots and spray with compressed air or leave the boots out for a day or two. Also inspect for cracs in boots and coils, if there are cracks, what may occour is carbon tracking and high voltage will follow the carbon track. This being the case you may have to replace them or try a wipe down. A cheep way may be to switch one of them and see if you transplanted the problem.
It is unclear to me how washing would get water in the cylanders----Good luck
