My headlights and dash lights blink on and off sparatically and often. I wiggle the switch and play with the dome light and radio and clock but nothing seems to trigger it. Im thinking it might be the relay but are the headlights and dash lights on the same relay? And if its not the relay what else could it be? I dont want to have to search for a short that would be a neverending battle with all those wires

Hello, Usually there are two voltage circuits going to the headlite switch. The higher amp circuit goes to the circuit breaker in the headlite switch for the headlites.

The lower amp circuit goes to the headlite switch also and is for the tail-lites and dash lites, usually. You could check the fuse circuits, they should be hot all the time. If one circuit is bad it should kill only one circuit not both headlite and dash. Makes me wonder about your headlite switch.
