Transmission problem
1998 Ford Contour 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

overdrive does not turn off and the transmission is very jerkey when shifting from 1st to 2nd also I can get to 70 mph on highway then after the transmission engages into neutral I have to come to a complete stop and put in park before it will reengage into drive what do you think the problem is?

1st step should be to check for tranny code
Once you have the codes post them for more help

If tranny with a lot of miles on it suspect internal tranny failure and replacement or rebuilt is needed
