Flickering lights inside and out even when the cars not running. Check engine light stays on always. Just had a new altenator put in and the check engine light went out for a couple of days but the lights were still flickering and the check engine light came back on.

The flicking lights sounds like the grounds check the negative batt wire follow from battery to the body and to the trans thats where they go. THe check engine light has nothing to do with the other problem when they installed the alt you had the batt disconected and this cleared the computer go to advanced auto parts or what ever cheapo auto parts store and they will scan the computer for free
