Would that sensor a check engine light on?

Just bought a ford contour and the car runs fantastic, Guy said that when he first bought it (cel) light comes on to unplug battery. Then unplugged it and then it worked, But I noticed the ground wire did have a bad cable harness not fully connected? But like I said the car runs good. All fluid levels are good and runs extremely smooth.

You could have the computer scanned to identify what code is in the computer. Most parts stores will do it for free. Then you would know if it is related.
