1995 Ford Contour Transmission slip

My 1995 contour is a automatic with 51000 on the car when driving it will go thru the first couple of gears and then it will start slipping when I reach the higher gears could this be the trans going bad? Please help

Slipping is usually first sign that the transmisison fluid and filter need replaced. You may want to start there and inspect the fluid when draining. If its got metal shavings in it then tranny is shot. If it smells burnt with no shavings you may be OK with just replacing fluid.
