95 Bronco front wheels engaged?

I have a 1995 bronco xlt don' know how to check if front wheels are actually engaging, in 4hi or 4l. We were wheeling, backs would slip on dry hills but never any slipping or? From up front?It seemed to gear down (transfer case)but still nothing up front. She should have went where I asked her too, nothing major. Please help, thanks

Hmmm?/ Interesting. Well if you have a standard transfer case (one that is not made like a diferential) you could remove the rear driveshaft and see if the vehicle goes when in 4 wheel drive. Hows that?
