Hey I have a 1984 ford bronco that has 4 wheel drive. When I am driving it, if I honk the horn or put it into reverse or even turn my blinker on it dies. I have taken it to a mechanic and he has been looking for a short for over 3 months and has still not been able to find it. Could u tell me where I should try and look. The mechanic is now putting it back together so I am going to have to try and fix it myself? HELP!

I would replace the ignition switch, not the key and tumbler but the switch under the coloumn. Remove bolts under col. Lower col. You will see a switch. The part is fairly cheap and easy to change and will cause all the symtoms. Billymac

Remove the lower dash cover where your knees would be. There is 2 or 4 bolts holding the steering coloumn. The coloumn will lay right down on the seat. Switch mounted on top of coloumn

I tried replacing that switch but no solution. Im thinking that it may have something to do with the starter relay red wire
