My truck has been very well maintained and has 83,000 miles - full synthetic oil, etc, etc.

Recently, the check engine light came on so. Off to my friend and Ford mechanic. Sam replaced the 3 oxygen sensors-the light was still on after replacing the sensors and then I noticed the truck idling VERY rough on hot days right after start-up and while idling at a stop on hot days. Sam re-checked and said the computer was bad. He completed a COMPLETE tune-up and the rough idle problem still exists - he suggested to replace the IAC (it think that's the air control valve?) Any other suggestions or advice?

HELLO, I just got into basically the same situation. Mine registered EGR codes. I finally think I have found it. Since replacing it runs like a champ. EGR check valve it looks like a medicine bottle that is black. Follow the egr hose around the back of the motor. It should be green and it connects to it. It only takes 40 bucks and 5 minutes to replace it. I have explained it more under my issue, that is also posted under 1996 bronco 5.8. I hope this will save you that pain I went through to find this
