Hi,

The loss of spark can be the result of several different things. However, there is a procedure of things you should start with when diagnosing.

If you look at pic 1 below, I highlighted a wire that goes to the positive side of the ignition coil. That should have power when the key is in the run or start position. First, confirm that has power.

If it does, then we need to check the pick-up coil in the distributor. See pic 2 below. It is a hall effect sensor that should produce voltage when the engine is cranked. Using a digital multimeter (DDM), check for a DC voltage signal from that component when the engine is cranking. If there is none, replace the sensor.

If both components check good, next, scan the computer for diagnostic trouble codes. This vehicle has an OBD1 system which doesn't require a scan tool. Here is a link that explains how to test for codes.
