Drive Train Axles Bearings problem
1994 Ford Aerostar All Wheel Drive

I have snapped a front CV joint. Can I remove the front axels and still drive it? Do they make a cap to seal it off? We do not want to sink any more money into this vehicle just make it last to November?

If the axel is truly snaped you are not going anywhere. I guessing the boot is torn and grease is coming out. If this is the case a quick boot kit is available that can be replaced with axle in place. This should get you to Nov.
Hope this helps

The CV joint in fact is cracked in 2. The van I believe I forgot to mention is all wheel drive. Can I just disconnect the axel and fill the hole?

It does drive just when I stop the front drivers axel I believe still spins. Makes a bad noise. But it does drive.

You can get a rebuilt axle for around $80. If have skills or a friend it is a little tricky but not impossible to change. All the effort you will put into removing the axle you will have acomplished the replacement. You really need an axle there or damage to transaxle may occure.
Good Luck
