1992 Ford Aerostar Gear shift problem

1992 Ford Aerostar Two Wheel Drive Automatic

One morning I started my van and when I moved the shift lever to shift into drive, something snapped and the shift lever all but broke off in my hand. What happened and what do I need to fix it?

I to had the same problem and relized my shifter plunger broke in two.I had to go to my local ford dealer and purchase a new shifter plunger the cost was a two part cost for me as I needed the inside plunger and the outside housing($70)for both parts. Sounds like you may need these parts as well.
