Flywheel Installation

Hi Folks,

I want to make sure I am installing flywheel correctly.
How does this look? See image.
I am thinking it might be installed backward.
But, as it is now, there are six tapped holes for clutch and three pins facing out.
And how does clutch fit over pins on flywheel.
What do you think?

That looks like it's on there correctly. The pins are alignment pins the clutch will have holes that slip over the pins and line up the bolt holes in the pressure plate. Be sure to use an alignment tool in the clutch disc and get things lined up before installation. The clutch disc has a short and long side on the center hub, the short side faces the pressure plate. Be sure to clean the flywheel and pressure plate surfaces of any anti-rust coatings. When you bolt the pressure plate down use a simple cross pattern and torque the bolts to 15 ft lb.

Hi,

I was about to install a new flywheel the next day with new bolts.
But it rained unexpectedly and some
surface rust is on flywheel.
I cleaned off rust but there are dark areas. I can send a pic tomorrow.
Think it is cool to install clutch disc and pressure plate or should I clean flywheel, so it is shiny and new? Scotchbrite pad and PB Blaster then clean with brake cleaner.
Sandpaper or wire brush wheel on drill?
