I just noticed that the door lock light on the instrument console starts flashing when the car is turned off. It only turns off when the car starts and is running.

Is that normal? I never noticed it before but that doesn't mean anything because I am not visual.

Thanks,

Jon

Can you get a picture of this light?

I think that may be the security light. Is this an image of a key or a pad lock?

I am attaching a picture below of what I believe is what your cluster looks like.

If the arrow pointing to the key is what the light is that you are seeing, then yes that is normal.

Basically, that is telling you that the theft system is on.

I am also attaching the info about if there is an issue with the system that will help with determining any DTCs.

You can also scan the vehicle for codes.

Lastly please see the info attached and let me know if you can get a picture of this. Thanks

It is the security light. Just wanted to know if it was supposed to flash continually when the engine is off. Sounds like it is. Thanks a bunch (no pic needed).

Got it. Yes. That is exactly correct. If that is the light then yes it flashes, I think 1 every second or once every 3 seconds. I can't remember on this vehicle, but it is a visual indicator to you that it is active and a warning to those that may want to break in.

Thanks for clarifying and using 2CarPros.
