I was replacing the headlight bulbs and on the passenger side I noticed coming out of the harness and extra wire running to a plug. It's a two prong plug small oval shape with two wires running into it. I believe they are gray and black it is a hot wire regardless of the lights being on or off. Just curious if anyone would know what this wire is for or if I can block it off somehow.

That looks like the hood ajar switch but I thought those were black on that vehicle. The hood ajar switch on this vehicle is behind the passenger side head lamp so the location fits. Take a look at the attachment. It looks like the wires are the correct colors as well. One should be violet and light blue and the other is black.

Even if the wiring colors are different what will tell us this is what it is, is if the gray part compresses. It should be like a plunger and the gray part opens and closes the switch to tell us that the hood is open or closed.

Ah, thank you. No wonder I couldn't find where it went. I don't have the switch on my car for the plug to plug into, lol. Bought car used and was just fixing a blown high beam and found the plug. So again thanks for the info much appreciated.
