Last week my vehicle was side swiped and took off my mirror. I replaced the mirror but got wrong one. Now waiting for the correct one to come in! Since the side swiping, my vehicle turns on and runs fine, but it will not shift out of park. What could cause that?

More than likely you have damage to the shift interlock or possible the BCM. The BCM control the solenoid that when energized it allows the vehicle to be shifted from park.

What I would do is check voltage at the solenoid when you are pressing the brake and if you have voltage then the solenoid is the issue.

I attached the info on this so that we can start reviewing this to figure out what we need to do.

If you have no voltage then we could have a number of different issues so let me know this and we can start going through the circuit.

Please let us know if you have questions on this and we can go from there.
