Codes P0455 and P1448, EVAP vent control solenoid pigtail voltage

“Trying” to chase down code P0455 and P1448. Vent valve stuck open/closed. After smoke testing, found no hose leaks but did find broken purge solenoid (literally fell apart). Replaced it. Now vehicle throwing P1448. I removed vent control solenoid, performed bench test using alligator clip leads to battery, got the nice “clunk” multiple times. Went to test voltage at pigtail connector with ignition key in “on” position and find I am only getting about 2 volts and dropping. At this point, I am stuck and seeing as how electrical is not my thing, I am at a loss for what to do next. Battery is fully charged as well. Please help.

Good afternoon.

The vent connector is fed by a fuse. It should have 12 volts with the key on.

I attached a diagram for you to view. Check the fuse listed for power on both sides.

The PCM controls the ground.

Check all your fuses with a test light for power on both sides with the key on.

Just checked all fuses. Test light shows power on both sides of all fuses except one. #7 (7.5A) Engine Control Module (ECM), Daytime Light Control Unit. At this fuse, I get nothing from test light on either side. Not sure if this ties in at this point, but also have a P0304 (cylinder four misfire). Was going to tackle that after the voltage problem for the Evap valve.

Okay, if all the fuses are good and there is no power to the vent solenoid, then there is a wiring issue to the vent solenoid.

You will need to check the wiring for any damage.
