Enginge starts, but cuts off after a few seconds

How do you reset a passlock on a 2000 GMC Sonoma? I have replaced the ignition housing and cylinder, but I cannot get it to stay running more than a few seconds. I have tried to turn the iginition in the "on" position for 10 minutes and start it immediately following and it will stay running a few seconds longer, but still stalls out. The tumbler was rekeyed to my original key, so I didn't think this would be a problem. Please help.

It takes three ten min cycles to learn it. After the security light stops flashing after trying to start it and leaving the key on. Then turn the key off for ten seconds then try to start it then leave the hey in the run position don't turn it off till the security light changes state again for ten seconds. Then do the same thing. When you get to the fourth cycle it should start.
