Engine swap

Not really much you can do other than a few minor changes to what you have, maybe a transmission shift kit, engine wise it's much harder.
Changing the engine to anything other than what you have will at minimum require a different powertrain control module and likely much more depending on the engine. The days of just swapping things around ended when all the computers and emissions controls became common.
