Being a 2018 and because it's a turbo engine I would look at what a remanufactured engine from a place like Jasper or even Ford would cost. That engine comes out through the top so that does make it a bit easier. If you are wondering if you could put a different than stock engine in it, the answer would be no because of all the electronics and networking. Because you will need to do a lot of work to more than just the common pieces you may want to subscribe to either Alldata or Mitchell's DIY system. That way when you wonder which bolt goes where you have the information handy. The attached are the steps to pull the engine. You reverse that to install the replacement.
