Engine stalling when I put it in drive.

I can start my car up and it runs fine, but when I put it in drive it just dies it doesn't launch forward or anything just dies like I shut it off it did go and drive in revers but won't go forward. What could it be?

Have a trans guy take a look at it. May be a burnt up clutch or seal

Automatic transmissions have several clutch paks in them that are applied hydraulically at different times. They have seals to move a piston to apply the clutches pictured is a normal clutch pak. The pcm moves a solenoid in the valve body to apply these. See pic
