So, about a month ago, I drove my suburban 800 miles towing a trailer. It quit running on me halfway through and a couple other times after. I made it the 800 miles, let the truck sit for a couple days due to a coolant hose busting. Fixed the hose, then I got a check engine light for a p0332 code. I drove it for 2 weeks and it started low idling and shutting off on me. Took it to the mechanic to have him replace the knock sensors (AC Delco) and intake manifold gaskets. He replaced the knock sensors, but the gaskets were the wrong ones. So, I drove the truck and the next day the p0332 code came back with still a low idle. So, a week later, I got the right gaskets, took it to another shop and they installed them. The idle stayed at roughly 800 RPMs (before it was 550ish. But my check engine light was still on for the same codes. Drove it home and cleared the code with my code reader. The next day, the code was back with an additional p0327 code. So fast forward to last night, went out to drive it, started up, idled for about 2 minutes, threw it in drive and it shut off on me. Started it back up, drove it 10 minutes, shut it off and let it sit for about 3 hours. Started it up and it immediately shut off. Eventually it started up after dying about 3 more times after that. Still having the two codes now.

So, the sensors are new, but you get codes for them being bad, this shouldn't make the engine stall out. I have seen the fuel pump start to go out which leans the engine out so it will ping without control, this is what the code can be telling you. Let's confirm the issue by doing a fuel pressure test, install a new fuel filter first please.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-fuel-system-pressure-and-regulator

Measure with the Key On Engine Off with the fuel pump commanded ON.

Vin (V,T,U)
Fuel Pressure (gasoline) .................... 55-62 PSI

Vin (Z)
Fuel Pressure (ethanol) .................... 48-54 PSI

These specifications are taken from the Fuel System Diagnosis. For complete testing of fuel pressures and volume see Fuel System Diagnosis, See: Computers and Control Systems > Testing and Inspection

Would this cause the low idle as well? Right now I’m at about 550 idle RPMs, I will get the fuel pump test kit.

Fuel pressure when the engine is in the on position - 49 PSI.

Fuel pressure when the engine is running - 42 PSI.

Fuel pressure as soon as engine is turned off - 40 PSI.

Fuel Pressure (gasoline) .................... 55-62 PSI so it looks like the fuel pump is weak or the fuel filter is plugged. Here is the location of the filter and how to replace it, I have included a video as well.
