Engine cut out while driving, code 15

Driving home one day and all of a sudden when I was accelerating my engine jumped and red lined and then cut out and while I was rolling. I tried to roll start and it would not. Immediately an engine code popped up and it read Code 15 ICM problem. I believe it's the ICM in the distributor. So I ordered a whole new distributor and got a tune up kit as well, but I have never had a distributor go out so abruptly. I'm going to get a spark tester and see if I have spark. Want to know if this issue has occurred so suddenly before.

Update: Went to test the spark and it started right up. Would that be the Ignition Control Module working intermediately? If so great distributor is on its way.

You are correct that the ICM is inside the distributor and based on all this, I suspect you are right on the issue.

I would agree to replace this and retest the issue. Clearly if it acts up again, let us know what codes are there and we can go from there. Let us know what happens. Thanks
