Engine Mechanical problem
1990 Acura Integra 4 cyl Automatic 205000 miles

We had our first snowstorm for this car yesterday. This morning, around 6:30 temp =25, I went out to shovel and clean the car off so my wife could go to work. I started the car to let it warm up. After 1-3 minutes, the car turned off. It has not started since. Every time I try, it tries to turn over but just "sputters". The belts look intact. About a month ago, the muffler separated from the exhaust pipe due to rust (this should not affect ignition system). The only thing I notice was that there is a copper colored pin about 1/2 long that had a small hose over it right above the throttle. This hose was broken and falling off. It looks like it goes into the air intake system

Hi Biu3,

There are 2 hoses on top of throttle body and uppermost is for EVAP system, would not affect engine starting.

Another hose would be for the MAP sensor. If that hose is detached or broken, idling and starting would be affected.
