Engine knocking noise from under hood?

For the last 3 weeks knocking noise from under hood/engine. now the car cut off while driving says powertrain engine on dashboard of car.

Please check your engine oil first if that's okay. It sounds like you may have a rod knock or a lifter that may have come apart. We should run the codes to see what comes up. Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so I can hear the noise? That way I can tell for sure what's going on. You can upload it here with your response.
