Classic sign of a vacuum leak. Check over the hoses and connections for a leak. It could be as simple as a broken vacuum line or bad purge solenoid. Or it could be a bad idle air control or throttle position control.
Wouldn't be a bad idea to clean the throttle body as well.

Is the check engine light on? If yes, you will want to get it scanned for the code(s) it has stored and post those.

My dad has checked for vacuum leaks and has found none. Has replaced new throttle position sensor. And he said the purge sensor looks new. This car is a 2002 and I took a 2003 3.4l out of a 2003 model rendezvous and put it in this car. Now it is giving me this problem.

You probably will not like the answer but those two engines are not actually interchangeable.

2000-2002 3.4 uses a different cam and cam timing, different crank timing ring, and different ECM than the 2003-2005 3.4
