The car listed above is a convertible. The blinkers do not work, the top does not work, nor do the windows. Does this sound like a footwell module issue?

Hi,

It does sound related. I did a little research and found some info of interest. It seems they are extending the warranty on the module to 10 years or 156K miles. You fall within the mileage. However, I don't know when the vehicle was put into service. See Pic 1 below.

Regardless, you will be close to the year limitation. You should be able to get assistance because of it.

If they say no, then to confirm it is the module, you will need to scan the can-bus. CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, all the computers/modules are tied together via a few wires. This type of scan will retrieve codes regardless of the module storing them and confirm if the footwell module has failed.

Here is a link showing how it is done:

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

I will do a fan scan, but I replaced the module with a used one same number now windows and interior lights work. I am sure if windows don't work too won't because they have to roll down for top to open. So now I need to see why too isn't working. No codes under top, no other codes other than ambient temperature sensor. But there is a used relay in the car and I am thinking maybe they removed it for the top thinking it's bad. Is there a relay or fuses for the top?

Watch this please. Only error I saw was for ambient sensor which I fixed so now it's not saying blocked. Nothing else related even with the can scan. Only thing I see is right and left height sensor. I never see a mi I with height sensors. But I tried the profess of inserting gob, holding both toggles down then removing fob inserting again lifting both toggles up but they keep rolling down. An 100% windows are why too isn't working. See if you can find me a reset for windows and top please.

I am afraid to remove the negative cable to reset everything because so many people say that it damages the frm, and they have same issues of windows not working and turn signals. So, I don't want to do that.

Hi,

I'm not familiar with the reset concern. If the battery fails and needs to be replaced, it would need to be disconnected. That shouldn't affect the FRM.

I did watch your video. If you switch the FRM with a used one, was it coded for your vehicle? I realize it was the same part number, but it may be programmed differently. In other words, the vehicle it came from may have had different options.

Let me know.

No I doubt. From reading so much on the issue, many have reported that if it's the same number everything should work fine, which it did as far as the components, lights, windows, turn signals, etc. The window issue is also very infamously common but have several different procedures depending on the year I believe. So many reports of : e.G, car shut off, went to jump it and Footwell module failed, same if you just removed or disconnected battery to do work on car and connected back.

Hi,

I understand your concern. Have you tried contacting a dealer to see if it can be covered?
