I went to start the car after I got off work, the anti theft system turned on, and shut off gauges and every thing, but did not cut engine. I tried to reset it with GM passkey thirty minutes, did not work.

Right now- I turn the key on and everything looks like it is working fine, after a few minutes all of the dash lights go off, steering wheel locks up, but engine is still running.

Idea?

Hello,

It sounds like the BCM has gone out and needs to be replaced. Here is the location so you can change it out. I have heard of people installing a used one and it works while other times the unit will need to be programmed.

Please check the fuses as well.

Check out the diagrams (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.

Cheers, Ken
