Was parked for 30 minutes car running A/C on. Car started overheating and check engine light came on. Code read ECT sensor and two misfires. Could the sensor go out from being idle running A/C?

Hello,

No. Can you pull the Direct Trouble Code (DTC) for us. Here is a link below for you to go to below, if you are unfamiliar with how to do this:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/checking-a-service-engine-soon-or-check-engine-light-on-or-flashing

Please pull the DTC(s) for us and get back to us with what they are. We will have specific directions for you to fix the problem at that time. You are probably going to have an electrical issue with your vehicle's engine cooling fans not turning on, but we will cross that bridge when we are led to it.

Thanks,
Alex
