Engine will not crank

Hello, I just purchased this car. I drove car home parked it and this morning it will not even crank the engine. There is a little red flashing light by the radio volume knob. Radio when turned on says code. Will this keep engine from starting?

The red flashing light will not keep the engine from cranking over. It sounds like the starter has gone bad, here is a guide that will help you test the starter and see if that is the problem.
