Drivers door will not unlock with key fob

The drivers door will not unlock with the key fob or the power lock inside. I have reset the key fob and the door will lock but not unlock. I can here the actuator working when I lock it but nothing when I try to unlock. All other doors work properly.

What it sounds like is the door lock actuator is failing. It is usually a very common failure with power door locks. To replace it, the door latch assembly would need to be replaced. The manufacture does not make it very easy to replace. I will post a link to a Ford Escape door latch replacement if you would like to do the repair yourself. The hard part will be to transfer the parts over to the new latch. Well the video is very good. I only found one part on the net and it is $50.00. So I am deciding if it is worth making the repair. Thank you very much and I will copy you if I make the repair.
