I'm removing the driver's door the VIN starts with a J/Japanese Built. How do I remove the wiring harness from the door?
Is there one connector or several?
Thank you,
Dixie

This depends on how you are removing the door. If you are removing the entire door by unbolting the hinges and taking the entire thing you will need to remove the trim panel in the driver's side footwell and disconnect the door harness connector, Then you pull the accordion boot free at the connection to the A pillar and remove the harness and connector out of the hole. If you are removing the harness from a door that is already off, then you need to remove the trim panel and the water barrier and go in and disconnect the individual connections and then remove the accordion from the door side and the harness then comes out that opening.

Thank you for your quick response.
I'm just changing a complete driver's door.
Everything is in working order and the same as my driver's door. You have been more than helpful and a life saver. I'm so tired of climbing through the passenger side door lol, and it's unsafe.

In that case you should be able to unplug the harness right inside the pillar. Be aware that you might need to adjust the weather stripping to get the replacement to seal if it's a used door.
