The other day I had to repair the driver side door switch. Upon doing so, the door latch began acting up and it is making a loud clunking sound when the latch strikes the striker bar. I didn't do anything near the latch when I was working on the switch. But in guess its. It improbable the cord didn't shift.

Hi Jaycee77,

Does the door actually close or does it bounce back or feel like it is getting hung up? It is possible that the latch itself got flipped down.

Worse case scenario you may have to remove the latch to inspect it. Hopefully you won't have to actually pull it out and you will see what is happening once you get the door panel off. However, I included a couple documents to help if needed. The first is how to adjust the latch and the second is how to remove if needed.

Let me know if you need more assistance. Thanks

The door will in fact close. But when it hits that first portion of the latch it makes a loud clunking sound. I had the door open again tonight to look at it and I see. Nothing out of line. Assembly could still be bad.

You could almost say the clunking sound is a 'tight" sound. Doesn't seem like it wants to "fit ".

I would agree. That sounds like a latch itself. Unless the door is completely out of adjustment and it is hitting on the door jam the only other thing is a latch. Let me know if it looks like the door needs adjusting and I can send that procedure but I would think that would be pretty obvious.
