Does my vehicle have to be reprogrammed if I replace the accelerator position sensor?

Having a problem with the gas pedal, it doesn't want to give the motor gas when I press just a little bit on the pedal until I give it more pressure and then the car will go. Can these sensors be cleaned, and will I need to get my car reprogrammed after installing a gas pedal position switch?

Hello again,

The sensors cannot be cleaned at all. They cannot be reused either.

They do not need to be programmed either. They are plug-and-play replacements.

Verify your fuel pump is working correctly.

Also, do a compression test to be sure the timing is correct.
