2000 Dodge Truck fluid

Dodge 2500 diesel. Yes I am wondering if I can put any other kind power steering fluid in this truck. It makes a growling noise and has to warm up on cold mornings sometimes as much as 5 minutes or more depending on how cold it is. What is your thoughts on a synthetic type or what would you reccommend. Thanks

HI there,

I would be sticking t the factory recommended oil, other oils may not be compatible with valves, seals and lubrication pressure requirements, if there is a noise in the pump, there may be a faulty relief valve I would get this checked first.
