1976 Dodge Truck V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

My 1976 3 speed auto-matic transmission has started to shift to soon. It shifts from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd at speeds of less than 15 mph. It is so problematic that I am currently starting out in 2nd and then shifting to "D" when I feel I should. Anything I can adust or is my tranny on the way out?

There is a rod or cable attached to the carb linkage. If it's the rod, see if your nut has come loose there or at the trans. Or it may have fell off. The cableif it has that may have broke. They do have clips and one o fthose may have broken. You can adjustit backward, but check for brokenstuff or loosestuff before trying to adjust it. You might go to far then you 'll need to go forward with it then.
