1998 Dodge Stratus; ~116000 miles; 2.0 L SOHC; 5-speed manual.
I have noticed that I can hear a very loud road noise around 35 mph and that it gets progressively louder the faster I go. When the car is idling I do not hear it, ie, the engine sounds fine. Even when I rev the engine while idling to 3000 rpm's, I do not hear it. The driver front is louder than the passenger front [when I weave, the driver front is louder]. I interchanged the two front tires [they're non-directional] but this did not help. The tires are Goodyear Integrity P175/R14 and are relatively new. I looked at the suspension components and they're intact as far as I can tell. Might the tires be unbalanced?

Sounds like a wheel bearing noise you are describing.

That's right - the driver wheel bearing was shot and getting worse - replaced hub/bearing assembly on both sides - sounds great - 2-carpros definitely gets a donation!
