I have a 2000 stratus 4cyl put a 2006 jeep cd player in everything works but- now the dash lights don't work. When I try to attach the orange/brown illumination wire to either constant yellow they come on and stay on. If I try to put it on the switcher or red/white ignition wire it shuts down the stereo what can I do?

Sounds like the wire you described is a dimmer, something the stratus may not have had, not sure how to fix without seeing it and how its working, my most famous fix is toggle it.
