Engine Mechanical problem
2003 Dodge Stratus 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Here it goes. Dodge Stratus RT with 3.0 liter Mitsubishi engine. The car was given a tune-up.
Intake plenum removed for back spark plugs. When plenum was replaced it wasn't done right and had an intake leak which made the idle surge up and down (we found this out later about the leak). Diagnostic shows EGR valve bad. Replaced, no change in condition.
Intake leak repaired, now car will not hold an idle. Diagnostic (from repair manual NOT computer hooked up to car) reads that the IAC motor is bad. Idle air control. IAC motor replaced, very expensive part, STILL no idle. Battery was disconnected, cables tied together to drain capasitors, no change. Car was drive through a drive cycle that states it will re-learn the computer to idle, no change.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Without being there, this is a tough one. If I had to guess, based on your description, I would say you still have a vacuum leak. How have you checked? Does the car run good off an idle?
