Battery light in instrument cluster stays on when key is on or motor is running. I've tested the battery on a load tester, it shows strong. The voltage gauge in instrument panel shows alternator charging at 13-14 volts. Actual with a meter is 13.3V. I've checked grounds and their good. What am I missing? Someone on Team3S told me ECU was tied in with the instrument panel lights and it could be a ground problem. Can't find anything other than overdrive light is out in instrument panel but overdrive function works properly. Going to replace bulb. But wouldn't think that would be an issue. Thanks in advance for your input!

We need to start with actually load checking the alternator as just checking the output voltage is not going to show an issue all the time.

Here is a guide that will help with this:

Next we need to check the voltage at the charge indicator. I suspect we may have a wiring issue or even an issue with the generator relay.

However, we need to start with this and find out where we stand. What I suspect is happening is if the wiring has resistance then the light is getting turned on when it should not be.

Please see the wiring diagram below and let us know what you find with this and we can go from there. Thanks
