Does anyone know if this year's Cummins has an optical sensor in the fuel system. Looking to run biofuel also known as black diesel but if this fuel system has an optical sensor it will shut down.

Hi
That year does not have a partical sensor so can run biodiesel. If bio is from a fuel distributor then O.K. To use but if "home brew" DO NOT use will cause major damage to fuel system. No tier1 or tier 2 fuel can be used O.K. For older mechanical injection but not for your vehicle.
Hope this helps

Thanks for the service! I have been asking several people in the auto industry but no one was able to give me an answer.

BTW, I have already been running bio "home brew" fuel in my truck for over one year. No problems except for early fuel filter changes. My question was specifically directed to black diesel and the partical sensor.

Based on knowing now that I don't have the sensor I will try a test with some black brew.
