I had the sensors in the trans replaced and it was ok for about 5k mi. Now it is doing the same thing again it wont shift into 3rd gear all the time without doing it manually, I have changed the fluid to make sure the proper fluid was installed and that didnt help. I have taken it back to where I had the work done and he says I need a new trans but it is pulling fime just the shifting issue. I have had the codes checked twice and nothing is showing up. Does it sound like I need a trans?

Actually, it sounds like a shift solenoid it everything else is good. Would he consider replacing it?

It sounds like it is bad, but it could be other things such as a trans control module (TCM) or the valve body. It wouldn't hurt to try the shift solenoid.
